Kathryn is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. She has completed a Bachelor of Arts (Criminology), Bachelor of Social Work, and Masters of Therapeutic Counselling.
She has worked in both school and community counselling settings, and is driven by a belief that it is the relationship between client and therapist that instigates change and growth. Having worked across a variety of settings means she has worked with children, adolescents and adults.
Kathryn has trained integratively, and utilises psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural and humanistic theory to help clients work through whatever they bring to a session. She has completed ongoing professional development in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and likes to use strategies from these modalities to help her clients make positive life changes.
After over a decade in London, Kathryn returned to Australia in 2021 and has continued to expand her therapeutic practice here. She has a particular interest in helping clients lead a life that is authentic to their values, and has experience working with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life adjustments, trauma, identity issues and self-harm.
Outside of work, Kathryn is a keen follower of the AFL, music lover and Mum to 2 children and 2 pugs. She is primarily fuelled by coffee and always glad of a recommendation for a good flat white!
