Paula is a Psychologist with a PhD in Psychological Science, and she has worked in mental health for over 15 years.
Paula has worked for a number of years in academic, allied health and mental health settings. including therapeutic trials for psychiatric disorders with the focus on long-term outcomes and evidence-based therapies for first episode psychosis, mental health promotion in rural communities, service development and clinical care within cancer-survivorship and worked several years in private practice. She is also published in the area of therapeutic treatments investigating body-weight mechanisms in the effects of diet-induce obesity.
Paula works with a wide range of issues including mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, anger management, stress, emotion regulation difficulties and issues pertaining to self-esteem.
Paula embraces a professional, supportive, and collaborative approach working closely with clients toward a shared understanding to work towards change. She adopts evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Interpersonal and Solution Focused Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy.
